We have an inherent phobia for putting things out in public. We believe that no one will appreciate what we have put out.
To begin with, we must stop giving a fuck. Start putting things in public.
I am sailing in this boat for ages now. I have hardly put anything on my blog for the fear that i do not have any content. I constantly have this fear that i am not well read to be able to write anything for the public. I think it does not matter if content lacks anything useful or the content is irrelevant for some readers.
This is what matters.
I have come to learn from Seth Godin that having one follower who truly admires your work is better than seeking for 1,000 followers from day 1.
Start today. Soon you will have one follower.
In a few weeks of consistently showing up, some more would join your tribe.
In a few months, more would join. You’ll see the magic of compounding. Eventually you’ll have your 1,000 true fans.
I would urge you to read this fascinating post from Kevin Kelly.
The idea is to stop thinking and start acting. Start today.
If you want to be a writer, write.
If you want to be fit, workout.
If you want to be a painter, paint.
If you want to read books, pick up a book today.
Take things slow. Take one thing at a time. Build a habit. Move on to the next one.
Make something meaningful out of your life.
